The case for small phones
The iPhone mini sold poorly, but the people who bought it loved it. Why one-handed phones still matter.

iPhone 13 mini
The last small flagship iPhone. One-handed use is a joy and the A15 is still fast, but battery life is the price of the size.

Our take
The last small flagship iPhone. One-handed use is a joy and the A15 is still fast, but battery life is the price of the size.
For phones we look past launch-week impressions: battery health after a year of daily charging, how the camera handles indoor and low-light shots, and whether the software keeps the phone feeling quick.
Pros
- Truly one-handed size
- Fast A15 chip
- Great display
Cons
- Battery life is short
- Lightning, no new small model since
