How we test

We buy most of what we review, use it for months, and write down what changed.

How we test

Most reviews are written in a week. Ours usually take months, because the questions that matter — battery wear, comfort, reliability — only show up with time.

Our rules

  • We buy most products ourselves. Loan units are disclosed and returned.
  • No manufacturer sees a review before it is published.
  • We revisit recommendations when prices or software change.
  • Scores reflect value at the time of writing, not only performance.

Standard tests

  • Phones: the same daily routine for battery, the same set of indoor and night scenes for cameras.
  • Laptops: a full workday on battery, a long export to check sustained performance, and fan noise at one meter.
  • Watches: the same 10 km running loop, sleep tracking and a week of normal wear.
  • Audio: the same playlist, the same commute and calls in a noisy cafe.

If something we recommended let you down, tell us — that is the most useful feedback we get.
